Update February 2, 2015: Blake found his forever home today!!
Blake is now our longest resident at the shelter. He was found as a stray with two puppies back in August and all three were severely underweight, but with several small meals a day, they all recovered quickly. The two dogs Blake came in with were adopted several months ago and Blake still waits for his forever home.
Blake is very friendly and doesn’t know what the word “stranger” means. He is very food motivated, so would be a breeze to train. He is high energy (but who wouldn’t be cooped up in a cage for almost 5 months??) and will need and active home and one that can give him time to adjust to life outside of the shelter. Blake LOVES to go on runs and is happiest when he is running along the trails near the shelter with volunteers. He would make an awesome running or hiking partner!
Blake recently had a very painful abcess in his leg. He was an absolute superstar while being examined at Main Street Veterinary Clinic all of the staff loved him. He is all healed up now and doing great!
We are guesstimating Blake to be ~2 years old. We do know that he should not go to a home with cats or small animals. He tested well while on leash with another unaltered male, but if you are interested in adopting Blake and have another dog, please bring him/her for a meet and greet!
